World Peace Day 

In 1960, Ikeda Sensei departed for his first overseas trip to realize the ideals of his mentor, second Soka Gakkai President Josei Toda, and took his first steps for worldwide kosen-rufu in North and South America. Ikeda Sensei’s First Visit to Europe

In 1961, Sensei visited Europe for the first time, traveling to nine countries and building the foundation for peace and kosen-rufu in Europe. (See NHR-4, “Great Light” chapter)

Start of the Yamaguchi Campaign   

In 1956, Sensei traveled to Yamaguchi Prefecture and, under Mr. Toda’s instruction, initiated a propagation campaign there. By the following January, with Sensei spending 22 days there over three months, the Soka Gakkai membership in Yamaguchiincreasedtenfold. (See The Human Revolution,  “Turning Point” chapter)

Founding of the Min-On Concert Association  

In 1963, a concert celebrating the association’s establishment was held. (See NHR-8, “Pure Stream” chapter)

55 Years Since First Meeting With Count Richard Coudenhove-Kalergi 

In 1967, Sensei met with Count Richard Coudenhove-Kalergi, a leading proponent of European unification, for the first time in Shinanomachi, Tokyo.
