To Our Most Noble SGI-USA members,
Thank you very much for your support of this year’s May Commemorative Contribution activity!
As we commemorate the 30th anniversary of Ikeda Sensei’s last visit to the U.S. and the Caribbean this month, I am truly inspired by the dedication and determination of our members to advance our kosen-rufu movement—not only through the offering of your time but your offerings of courage and sharing the Mystic Law with all people. Each day, I feel increasingly moved and humbled by all that you are doing.
Sensei has said that the foundation for expanding our network of peace lies in enabling every person, without exception, to become happy and win in life. In Sensei’s novel The Human Revolution, second Soka Gakkai President Josei Toda likens efforts to transform society based solely on economic or social means as attempting to navigate very rough seas in a tiny boat, no matter how sincere those efforts may be. In contrast, says Mr. Toda, “Our battle for kosen-rufu is a battle to calm the waves and let every boat sail in safety” (p. 195). I could not agree more!
I believe we are on the verge of creating a remarkable milestone in the history of our kosen-rufu movement as we approach our centennial in 2030. Together, let us advance with enthusiasm and joy, while creating a record of victory to make Sensei rejoice!
Sincerely,
Adin Strauss
SGI-USA General Director
