The SGI-USA announced the creation of an auxiliary group database in the SGI-USA Member Resources Portal to make it easier for members to receive communication regarding events and activities.

Members can self-select an auxiliary group by logging into portal.sgi-usa.org and selecting the “Auxiliary Groups” tab under “My Account.”

The following auxiliary groups are available based on the SGI-USA’s current membership demographics:

•Arts Department—members who consider themselves artists of any discipline in any field

•Courageous Freedom—members who identify as LGBTQ+

•Culture Department—members who are academics, educators, healing arts professionals, physicians and professional doctors and legal professional
•Many Treasures—members 65 years or older

•Military Active Duty, Veterans and First Responders—members who are active military or veterans and members who are first responders and their families

•Practicing Buddhism as People of African Descent—members who are of African descent

•Language Bureau—members who speak Chinese, Japanese, Korean or Spanish

The database enables the SGI-USA to generate an accurate auxiliary group membership list across the nation and help streamline communication to specific auxiliary group members—for example, memos related to auxiliary group events and conferences at the Florida Nature and Culture Center.
