June 10: Women’s Gongyo and Daimoku Relay

On June 10, 2022, to commemorate the women’s division’s 71st anniversary, the SGI-USA women will conduct a gongyo and daimoku relay from their homes any time between 5 a.m. and 10 a.m. in their local time zones. Collectively, they will pray for the following: 1) the peace of the land and the world; 2) to introduce people to Nichiren Buddhism; and 3) for the happiness of all people.

On June 10, 1951, second Soka Gakkai President Josei Toda established the women’s division. Since then, Ikeda Sensei writes, “Our women’s division members have always taken the lead in pioneering our movement for kosen-rufu” (June 19, 2020, World Tribune, p. 2).
