Sensei Found ‘Not Guilt’ in the Osaka Incident

On July 3, 1957, Sensei was unjustly arrested on groundless charges of election law violations in a House of Councilors by-election in Osaka. On July 17, he was released from prison. After a four-and-a-half-year struggle in court, on Jan. 25, 1962, he was found “not guilty” by the Osaka District Court. On Feb. 8, the prosecutor declined to appeal, completely exonerating Sensei of all charges. This year marks 60 years since the verdict. (See NHR-5, “Lion” chapter)
