Ikeda Sensei composed the following poems to commemorate Nov. 18, 2021, the 91st anniversary of the Soka Gakkai’s founding. These poems were originally published in the Nov. 18, 2021, issue of the Soka Gakkai’s daily newspaper, Seikyo Shimbun.

On the journey of mentor and disciple,
living, striving and winning
based on the Gosho—
how radiant are your smiles
as Bodhisattvas of the Earth!

The world’s most beautiful gathering
of human flowers—
you are surely heavenly emissaries
born to create a culture of peace
in the lands of your mission for happiness.

Young eagles,
freely spreading
your wings of practice and study,
take joyous, dynamic flight
into the vast skies of this century!
