5 Things to Know About the Intro Exam

1. When and where can I take the exam?

The SGI-USA Introductory Exam will be held Oct. 7–8, 2023, at local SGI-USA centers. Contact your local leader for more details. 

2. Who can take it?

Any SGI-USA member who has not taken or who did not pass a previous introductory exam may take this exam. Guests are also welcome to take it.

3. How do I register?

Examinees can register for the exam by logging in to their SGI-USA portal account. Visit portal.sgi-usa.org. Go to My Exams > Available Exams > Register. Guests can register by creating a new account. Examinees must register before Friday, Oct. 6, 11:59 p.m. PT. 

4. Where can I access the study material?

A free study guide with all material for this exam can be accessed by signing in to your SGI-USA portal account at portal.sgi-usa.org. Go to My Exams > Exam Study Guides > under Introductory Exam, click Download. 

5. What should I bring on the day of the exam?

Examinees should bring a smart phone, tablet or laptop to take the exam at a designated SGI-USA location.
