Brief Guidances

Let’s Take Another Step Forward Today!

Words of Encouragement From Ikeda Sensei

Whether you chant the Buddha’s name,[1] recite the [Lotus] sutra, or merely offer flowers and incense, all your virtuous acts will implant benefits and roots of goodness in your life. With this conviction, you should strive in faith.

“On Attaining Buddhahood in This Lifetime,” The Writings of Nichiren Daishonin, vol. 1, p. 4

All of our efforts for kosen-rufu create good causes that produce benefit in our lives and ensure that our families will flourish for generations to come. Nothing is ever wasted.

Therefore, let’s start each day with morning gongyo and pray specifically about our goals for the day ahead. Nichiren Buddhism teaches that the thoughts and prayers we cherish right now can set in motion waves of hope and victory that extend to our own human revolution, the health and happiness of our family, our fellow members and friends, and the peace and security of our communities and the lands in which we live.

Let’s confidently take another step forward today!
