Brief Guidances

Confidently Share the Joy of Faith!

Words of Encouragement From Ikeda Sensei

Kyo [of Nam-myoho-renge-kyo] represents the words and voices of all living beings. A commentary says, “The voice carries out the work of the Buddha, and this is called kyo, or sutra.”

The Record of the Orally Transmitted Teachings, p. 4

Our voices have incredible power. They can carry out the Buddha’s work. When our young men, valiant Bodhisattvas of the Earth, use their voices, they can inspire hope and courage. They enable people to form a connection with Buddhism and expand our network of like-minded friends.

In particular, nothing touches people’s lives more deeply than personal experiences in faith. Even if you’re not the most eloquent of speakers, your sincere words conveying the joy of faith will resonate with the Buddha nature of those listening.

My dear friends of the young men’s division, create enduring stories of victory and share them with confident voices, while also helping others do the same.
