Ikeda Sensei Starting Writing ‘The Human Revolution’

In 1964, Ikeda Sensei began writing The Human Revolution in Okinawa, the place that was the stage of a horrific land battle during the Pacific War. The Human Revolution, comprising 12 volumes, took over 28 years to complete. (See The New Human Revolution, vol. 9, “Hope of the People” chapter)

Sensei Met With Chinese Premier Zhou Enlai

In 1974, on Sensei’s last night during his second visit to China, he met with Chinese Premier Zhou Enlai in Beijing. (See NHR-13, “Golden Bridge” chapter and, NHR-20, “Ties of Trust” chapter)

40th Anniversary of the Poem “Youth, Scale the Mountain of Kosen-rufu of the 21st Century”

In 1981, Sensei presented the poem “Youth, Scale the Mountain of Kosen-rufu of the 21st Century” to the youth division members of Oita Prefecture. This year will mark 40 years. (See NHR-30, “Cheers of Victory” chapter)

Achievement of a Membership of 750,000 Households

In 1957, the achievement of second Soka Gakkai President Josei Toda’s lifetime membership goal of 750,000 households was announced in the Seikyo Shimbun. Mr. Toda had announced his goal in 1951, and with Sensei spearheading the effort throughout Japan, Mr. Toda’s goal had been achieved in less than seven years.
