Brief Guidances

Striving With Ever-Greater Seeking Spirit

Words of Encouragement From Ikeda Sensei

Strengthen your resolve to seek the way all the more and achieve Buddhahood in this lifetime.

“The Receipt of New Fiefs,” The Writings of Nichiren Daishonin, vol. 1, p. 946

Many leaders are vibrantly appearing in accord with the principle of “[bodhisattvas] emerging from the earth” (“The True Aspect of All Phenomena,” WND-1, 385).[1]

When we chant Nam-myoho-renge-kyo for the happiness of others, we can open a vast and expansive state of life. When we dedicate ourselves to kosen-rufu, we can speed up the process of transforming our karma. All these efforts enable us to accumulate “treasures of the heart” (“The Three Kinds of Treasure,” WND-1, 851) and help others do the same; they lead us to attaining Buddhahood.

Let’s joyfully take action on the front lines of our movement for kosen-rufu. While supporting and encouraging one another, let’s strive with ever greater seeking spirit to create fresh waves of expansion!

Propagation will unfold this way in the future as well. Does this not signify ‘emerging from the earth’?” (WND-1, 385). ↩︎
