Mont-Saint-Michel and its Bay have been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1979. Mont-Saint-Michel, an island commune in Normandy just 3.5 hours from Paris, attracts more than 3 million visitors each year. It is set in the midst of vast sandbanks and turns into an island at high tide.
