Q: What is the difference between the May and Sustaining Contribution?

A: There is no difference in the way in which the SGI-USA uses these contributions. The only difference lies in the timing in which members choose to contribute. Sustaining contributors support kosen-rufu with scheduled payments made throughout the year—generally on a monthly or quarterly basis—allowing them to plan ahead. May Contributions are made commemorating May 3, Soka Gakkai Day, and during a specified time period, which this year will be from April 28–June 5.
